Leave Encashment Letter

Money in hands

A leave encashment letter is a formal letter usually addressed to the Human Resource department in the last month of the year. Every employee in an organization starts out with a leave balance at the beginning of each year, and if by the end of the year, you happen to have unused leaves in this balance, you can get them en-cashed (i.e. receive payment for each unused leave, as per your daily wage) according to your company’s policy.

Subject: Leave Encashment Letter

I am writing this letter to avail the leave encashment option offered by the human resources department. The year is fast approaching its end, and since I won't be taking any time off, I feel it is best that I ask for leave encashment.

As per my own record, I have 17 leaves in my annual balance, kindly correct me if I am mistaken.

Looking forward to your confirmation,
